Disclosure
Professional-use disclosure
Use the numbers as a starting point. Field conditions, codes, and fuel facts always win over a web page.
Screening outputs, not approvals
Calculator results, reference values, guides, and Workspace reports are provided for informational screening. They are not engineering advice, not a code compliance determination, not an installer quote, not a fuel-delivery promise, and not a guarantee of runtime or performance.
Code and authority having jurisdiction come first
Where this site discusses sizing, placement, or installation practice, ISO 8528 ratings, NFPA 70 Article 445, and NFPA 110 as adopted and amended locally, the authority having jurisdiction, and the equipment manufacturer instructions always govern. If a calculator result and a code rule disagree, the code rule wins. Generator installation and service work should be performed or supervised by qualified, licensed persons in accordance with local law.
Fuel, loads, and site facts must be verified
- Confirm the current fuel facts: fuel type and price, tank usable capacity, and delivery constraints.
- Confirm the load list: running kW, largest motor starting surge, and which loads run together.
- Confirm equipment facts: manufacturer fuel table, nameplate kW/kVA, voltage, duty rating, altitude and temperature derates.
No conflicts, no paid placement
Calculator defaults and guide examples are editorial choices, not endorsements. The site does not accept payment to favor equipment, installers, lenders, or rate plans in its tools or content. If that ever changes for a specific page, the relationship will be stated on that page.
